Public Transport and Town Planning Internships

In addition to the general graduate program, the Department is also looking for 18 interns for provincial Public Transport and Town Planning roles. These positions are spread across nine provinces: Limpopo, Eastern Cape, Gauteng, Western Cape, Northern Cape, Mpumalanga, North West, Free State, and KwaZulu-Natal. Each province will have two internship openings.

To be eligible for these roles, applicants should have a National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in fields such as Transport Economics, Transport Planning, Transport Engineering, Civil Engineering, Town and Regional Planning, or relevant postgraduate qualifications.

Who Should Apply?

To be considered for any of these internship opportunities, candidates must have successfully completed the academic requirements for the specific discipline they are applying for. It is important to note that individuals who have previously participated in an internship program will not be eligible. The Department also conducts verification of qualifications, previous experience, citizenship, references, and security checks as part of the appointment process. If you are interested in more than one field, you must submit a separate Z83 application form for each position.
